Yes, it can feel like a lot – if you’re not prepared. But that’s exactly what we do for our families here at SchlickArt. We walk you through each step and check in with you along the way. We’re here to answer every one of your questions, no matter how big or small they might seem. We can even help you with wardrobe choices, to make sure everything photographs well.

2. Pampering

We know you want to look and feel your very best when you get your portrait taken. That’s why we do everything we can to make you feel pampered and taken care of from the moment your session begins. 

First and foremost, we always make sure to take extra care of Mom – because we know she’s usually getting everyone else ready while trying to get herself ready, too. That’s why we have tea and coffee (or a little something stronger 🥂) available in the studio upon arrival. Also, the studio will be filled with relaxing music and the scent of soothing essential oils. If you choose an in-studio session, we can even bring in red-carpet hair and makeup artists who will take care of Mom like she’s the star of the show. (Because she is!) 

But we don’t just take care of Mom. We do everything in our power to keep the mood positive, the kids engaged, and the parents happy from beginning to end – even if that means chasing the kiddos around the park just to get that perfect candid shot.

We all want to look our best on camera. That’s why we make it easy to feel confident with customized posing instruction that takes you out of your head – and lets you simply relax and have fun. 

That’s right. We’ll guide you every step of the way, from where to stand to what to do with your hands. We’ll even lead your family through a couple deep breaths to help everyone settle and connect before the session starts. From there, we have a few tricks to help bring out genuine smiles and beautiful, loving expressions. 

Even if you’re looking for a less-posed and more-candid style of shoot, we help coach you through that, too. In our outdoor Family Is Fabulous Session with Sonja, Sonja has your back. She will run around with the kiddos to capture genuine playtime, while she encourages sibling love and gets everyone laughing. Your kids won’t even realize they’re in a photo shoot – and the photos will be amazing.
