Life is a bumpy, beautiful road. It takes you on turns you didn’t expect and detours that turn out to be blessings. You never know what it may throw at you next, but after a while, well, you learn to roll with the punches.

You figure out how to stay in the driver’s seat, even when you lose your way. You find peace in the journey, instead of focusing on the destination. And you begin to trust yourself, even when you can’t predict what may lie ahead.

We hear a lot of stories in our studio, especially when it comes to our Signature SchlickArt Experience, a legacy video and photo day that invites you to tell your story on camera. It’s a full day of pampering and celebration, and it’s exactly the kind of experience we all deserve after a long day on the dusty road.

While bearing witness to these incredible, beautiful stories, we’ve learned a few things from our friends. We’ve seen how powerful this experience can be for people, especially around a major life transition: you’ve started a family, your family has changed, you’ve started a business, you’ve overcome a challenge, you’ve found your superpower, your kids have spread their wings. And the list goes on because everyone’s story is different.

But the one thing that’s always the same is the way people transform while telling their stories. That’s why there’s no better time to document your story than during a moment of transition! Here are four reasons why legacy video matters:

  1. The Power Of Storytelling

Legacy video, women of SchlickArt, Santa Clarita photographer, Santa Clarita video, glamour photography, photography for women, photography for real women, professional photography for women, photography for a woman’s body, women in photographyTelling your story encourages you to understand it in a different way. By explaining your experience to another person, you are consciously deciding on a perspective, rather than just reacting it to emotionally or out of habit. And at SchlickArt, we built our business on the idea that we can help you find the most empowering, uplifting and beautiful lens through which to see yourself.

  1. Adversity’s Secret Weapon

Even those lessons that were so hard fought in the beginning get a little hazy and fall to the back burner once we come out on the other side of a challenge. Life throws so much at us. One lesson leads to the next, and we barely have time to let our discoveries sink into our lives. We don’t celebrate the wins. By sharing them in a forever way, you’re giving yourself loving reminders, to help you keep your head up through the next struggle.

  1. The Gift Of A Lifetime

Once you have those lessons in your pocket, it’d be a shame not to pass them on to the next generation: your children and their children and so on. Those legacy stories are the most beautiful gift you have to give — your story in a snapshot — with the best lighting of course. 🙂

  1. The One Thing We All Deserve

Life gives us more than enough opportunity to feel small or not enough. How about a moment to feel beautiful and confident? Your legacy video is your moment.

Celebrate your wins. Document your heart. And share your stories that’ll last forever. That’s the one thing we all deserve.

About Lindsay’s Photography for Women

With the mind of a businesswoman and the heart of an adventurer, Lindsay began to conceive of a different kind of Santa Clarita photography business. In her vision, stepping in front of the camera could be an empowering experience that gave her clients more than just a photograph — it would give people a new way of seeing themselves. With an eye for seeing the beauty in life and in others, Lindsay could use the camera to spread beauty.
