After so many years of dreaming about this moment, we cut the ribbon on our first studio space — surrounded by so many of the friends, clients and community members we love and appreciate.

“You all helped us make this happen, and we can’t even put into words how much this means to us,” Lindsay said, “and how much you mean to us.”

For 7 years, SchlickArt operated out of an in-home studio – a beautiful, inviting and intimate space. But steady growth led to more shoots, more opportunities and more people on our team. Soon, we realized … we needed more space!

While the new studio space is bigger and more versatile, it’s still just as private, comfortable and luxurious as the in-home studio. In fact, we have even more privacy now with three internal shooting rooms, including the SchlickArt Boudoir Room.

Doors opened in early February and, shortly after that, we hosted a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony surrounded by our dearest friends and community partners. It was a party we’ll never forget, and as it turned out, the last one we would attend for a while.

An absolutely stunning spread of charcuterie, appetizers and small bites was prepared by the lovely Dianna Sherick-Aquino of D’Lish Catering, and everything was as delicious as it was beautifully designed. A custom dessert spread was prepared by Chef Daniel Otto at the Old Town Junction, featuring your choice between a decadent flourless chocolate cake and a luscious lemon cheesecake.

Wine was provided by the gorgeous Tanya Green of Wine 661, and beer was provided by the best neighbors we could ask for, Pocock Brewery. We also had a couple signature cocktails being poured at the open bar, including an Old Fashioned and a Grapefruit Gin & Tonic with freshly cracked pink peppercorns.

Kim Kurowski of A-1 Party brought balloons that helped make our storefront and studio look absolutely stunning and perfectly festive. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed for the perfect party, and we are so grateful for her support.

In true SchlickArt style, we also had plenty of photo opportunities, as well. The SchlickArt step-and-repeat was set up for selfies and group photos, and a second backdrop was hung in the Boudoir Room, for a more glamorous look.

One of the most exciting moments for us came when it was time to officially cut the ribbon on our new studio. Everyone from the party came to join us on the front step under the SchlickArt sign by Signs By Tomorrow, and we took a massive group shot as the ribbon fell and everyone cheered.

“It was a special moment, one we’ll always remember,” Brian said. “And part of what made it so special is that all of you helped us get here. We couldn’t have done this without you, and that’s why this is such a big deal to us.”

So we wanted to take this time to reflect on one of our happiest memories and say thank you to the people who helped us make this incredible transition in our business.

The Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce – especially John Musella, Ivan Volschenk and Troy Hooper – has been hugely supportive of our business in big ways, and we were so happy to celebrate with our local Chamber representatives. Thank you for all you do for SchlickArt and our business community!

We also wanted to thank our friends again for their help with setting up the studio: Brian and Lindsay Koegle, Taylor Levine and Sydney Stone, Nathan Imhoff and Deanna Miller, Darren and Heather Hamilton, Brendie and Noah Heter, and everyone who came by to help during the early weeks of our new studio.

We also wanted to PM Janitorial Services for their amazing work in keeping our studio clean and safe – every single week since we started.

And thank you to Poole, Shaffery & Koegle for all their legal help during the transition and leasing of this space, as well as Vance Wealth and Troost LLP for all their financial guidance. We absolutely could not have done this without you.

Of course, we also want to thank each and every one of you who has supported SchlickArt over the years – whether that’s booking a session, liking a post or simply helping us stay inspired, motivated and on track. We thank you for your friendship, your business and your love. Because of you, we have watched one of our wildest dreams come true.

About SchlickArt Photography & Video Studios

SchlickArt, a boutique photo and video studio in Santa Clarita, started in March 2012 with the simple idea that empowerment creates a kind of beauty and authenticity that shines through every camera lens. Built on a philosophy — rather than a product, service or person — SchlickArt has rapidly evolved, meeting professional portraiture, business photo and business video needs as diverse as the community we capture. It’s the desire to take care of you, the client, that drives us at SchlickArt.
