Here’s how to buy everything you need for the perfect Santa Clarita boudoir shoot — without leaving your hometown.
As women, our shopping preferences are as different as our individual styles.
Some like to shop online. Others like to be left to their own devices as they browse the stores. Yet still others prefer the expert guidance that comes with talking to an in-store stylist.
I’d even go as far to say that most of us like all of the above.
I mean, a girl can’t have too many excuses to shop, right?
We’ve created SchlickArt’s Ultimate Boudoir Buying Guide for an overview of all your boudoir shopping options, but we wanted to provide something extra for the ladies who prefer an in-store experience — without leaving the Santa Clarita Valley.
Love shopping local? This Santa Clarita Boudoir Shopping Spree was designed for you, gorgeous.
The Perfect Santa Clarita Boudoir Shopping Day
1. A Mobile Lingerie Fitting
Send the kids off to school. Pour your morning coffee and relax with some fashion magazines or open Pinterest on your tablet. Choose your favorite source of inspiration, and let the ideas roll in: ultra-sexy in black, innocently beautiful in white chiffon, his favorite sports gear, nothing but his dress shirt, the options are endless! (Pssst … Don’t forget to check out our boudoir blog for ideas, too!)
Then let the lingerie come to you. Get an expert fitting without leaving the comfort of your home by calling our local mobile lingerie boutique, Pinned Up Bras & Lingerie. Lisa, the owner and bra expert, will first take all your measurements and then help you find the perfect fit for your shape and needs. She’s even done her own boudoir shoot with us SchlickArt, so she knows exactly what to expect.
Plus, you can check out her video on selecting the best lingerie for boudoir here.
2. Lingerie Accessories
Now that you have the core of your wardrobe — the lingerie pieces — sorted out, it’s time to think about accessories and any additional looks you may want to layer in. This can include anything from thigh-highs and garter belts to masquerade masks or a silky robe.
For some super-fun accessories and more theatrical extras, like the masks, check out A Chorus Line Dancewear & Costumes on Cinema Drive in Valencia. Macy’s at Westfield Valencia Town Center also has a nice selection of lingerie accessories, such as thigh-highs, and if you’re looking for a budget-friendly option, Kohl’s has a nice selection of brand names that won’t break the bank.
Once you’ve got your lingerie figured out from head to toe, it’s time to shop for shoes! What girl doesn’t love shoe shopping?! We have lots of options in Santa Clarita, ranging from designer to budget-friendly.
If you have cash to spend, definitely stop by Michael Kors, Steve Madden or Macy’s — all of which are located at Valencia Town Center. Also at the mall, you can find your dream shoes at Aldo, which has great sale prices. Head over to Nordstrom’s Rack on McBean Parkway for designer labels without the designer price tag. You can never have too many pairs of sexy stilettos, after all.
4. Lunch & A Cocktail
By now, you’re probably ready to rest your weary feet from all that shopping! Grab yourself a light lunch — and maybe a cocktail — while you relax and review your wardrobe so far. You may even want to search Pinterest or some lingerie sites for last-minute ideas.
If you’re still at the mall, we recommend the lovely Salt Creek. If you’re eating healthy they have excellent choices, and their gin cocktails are always the perfect medicine. If you’re near Newhall, check out Newhall Refinery or The Old Town Junction for a chef-inspired lunch with the cocktail list to match.
Last but not least, it’s time to add the final touches: jewelry. Now, you might be thinking: “What about makeup and hair products?!” At SchlickArt, we provide full hair and makeup services with one of our red-carpet artists. They know how to do makeup for the camera, and they always come overly prepared. So they’ll have any color or shade you need. But If you have a favorite, feel free to bring it with you!
Now, as for the jewelry, you have tons of options depending on your price range. If you want a one-of-kind piece that will be front and center in your shoot, stop by Ro Ma Jewelry while you’re at the mall. (Or send your honey to do the shopping here.) For more cost-effective options, check out a couple of our favorite Santa Clarita boutiques: Dolled Up Fashions on Wayne Mills Place in Valencia, or H.E.R. on McBean Parkway in Valencia. You can also check out Kohl’s as a one-stop shop for budget-friendly options from lingerie to jewelry.
BONUS: Book Your Massage
Are you worth a bonus? Well, of course you are! What better way is there to end the perfect Santa Clarita Boudoir Shopping Spree than by booking a spa treatment to complete your dream boudoir shoot?
Since you’ll have full hair and makeup done on the day of your Santa Clarita boudoir shoot, you probably won’t want to waste all that beauty at the spa. Instead, plan a fun night out to get the most use out of your red-carpet look.
Then book your spa treatment for the day before your boudoir shoot. You’ll be nice and relaxed and feel glamorous in your skin. You can even try a body scrub or wrap treatment if you want extra-glowy skin for your big day!
About Lindsay’s Photography for Women
With the mind of a businesswoman and the heart of an adventurer, Lindsay began to conceive of a different kind of Santa Clarita photography business. In her vision, stepping in front of the camera could be an empowering experience that gave her clients more than just a photograph — it would give people a new way of seeing themselves. With an eye for seeing the beauty in life and in others, Lindsay could use the camera to spread beauty.
About SchlickArt Photography and Video
SchlickArt, a boutique photo and video studio in Santa Clarita, started in March 2012 with the simple idea that empowerment creates a kind of beauty and authenticity that shines through every camera lens. Built on a philosophy — rather than a product, service or person — SchlickArt has rapidly evolved, meeting professional portraiture, business photo and business video needs as diverse as the community we capture. It’s the desire to take care of you, the client, that drives us at SchlickArt.
