Meet the Schlicks! We’re checking in with a re-introduction for our newest friends and some extra love for our long-time ones. 

The SCV Chamber of Commerce 2023 Business Expo was another can’t-miss event this year! 

We loved meeting so many new faces, while also reconnecting with long-time friends, that we wanted to reach out and re-introduce ourselves.  

Whether you’ve known us for years or our paths are just now crossing for the first time, here’s a little update on where we started … and what we’ve been up to lately.

Meet the Schlicks 

We first met onboard a Princess Cruises ship while working as a staff photographer and videographer, and then in Ketchikan, Alaska, our lives changed forever. Later we were married aboard another Princess Cruises ship, and eventually settled in Santa Clarita. Brian was working at headquarters, and Lindsay was busy launching a business she had always dreamed of building. 

Fast-forward about 11 years, and we’ve moved into our first brick-and-mortar boutique studio with a team we love and clients who feel more like friends. We’ve expanded our product lines to include video content that tells the stories of many local businesses and organizations. We’ve created an original collection of women’s photography sessions called “The Fabulous Sessions.” More recently, we’ve expanded our visual marketing education services with SchlickArt Training Sessions for executives, personal brands, teams and small business owners in Santa Clarita and beyond. 

Meanwhile, we’ve kept our roots in this community by continuing to volunteer SchlickArt photography and video services, and in 2021, our first Charity Photography Exhibit was featured at Westfield Valencia Town Center. 

But at SchlickArt, we like to work hard and play hard, so we’ve celebrated some personal milestones, too. We’ve been lucky enough to buy our first home, celebrate more than 16 years of marriage, and spend time with our silly-sleepy cat, Eleven. We’ve made friendships we know will last a lifetime, and we’ve been making up for lost travel time by going on adventures with the people we love most. Whether we travel abroad or enjoy the peace at home, we try to make the most of the time we have together. Of course, for Brian that time is usually spent with a new craft beer, and for Lindsay, it’s best enjoyed with a gin cocktail. 

It seems life is pretty sweet these days, and it’s been even sweeter lately, as we meet new faces and make wonderful friends here in Santa Clarita.
